EMDR Intensives

Focused time for the work you are ready to do.

Traditional therapy usually gives you about 55 minutes at a time. For some people and some therapeutic goals, that works very well.

But there are times when having a larger block of uninterrupted time can create more room for preparation, processing, and integration.

EMDR intensives provide extended, dedicated therapy time designed around a specific goal or area you want to address.

Why Choose an EMDR Intensive?

The biggest advantage of an intensive is time and continuity.

Rather than repeatedly starting and stopping the therapeutic process, extended sessions give us more room for preparation, EMDR processing, breaks, and integration.

An intensive may be a good fit if you:

• Have a specific issue or experience you want to address
• Have done therapy but still feel stuck in certain areas
• Want to work with several connected experiences
• Find weekly appointments difficult to schedule
• Prefer focused, structured therapeutic work
• Already have a therapist and want adjunctive EMDR work

What Can We Work On?

Trauma & PTSD

Childhood experiences, abuse, betrayal, relationship trauma, frightening or medical experiences, and other memories that continue to affect you today.

Grief & Loss

Distressing aspects of a death or loss, including traumatic memories, guilt, regret, helplessness, or circumstances surrounding the death—while honoring the relationship and meaningful memories that remain.

Other Focused EMDR Work

Specific experiences, triggers, relationship injuries, fears, emotional patterns, or other concerns that continue to keep you stuck.

EMDR may also complement addiction and recovery treatment by addressing trauma, triggers, urges, shame, or relapse-related experiences. This work does not replace appropriate addiction treatment or recovery services.

What Does an Intensive Look Like?

We begin by identifying what you want to work on and determining whether an intensive is appropriate for you.

Your intensive may include preparation, EMDR processing, breaks, and time for integration.

Some clients choose one extended session. Others benefit from several hours or focused work across multiple days.

Already have a therapist? That's okay. An intensive can be used for a specific piece of EMDR work while you maintain your existing therapeutic relationship.

Is an Intensive Right for You?

An intensive isn't necessarily better than traditional therapy. It's a different way of creating time and space for therapeutic work.

During a free consultation, we'll talk briefly about what you want to address and determine whether an intensive—or traditional therapy—makes the most sense for you.
